Served as former Chief of the NGO Branch of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA);

With more than 33 years of diversified professional experience in supporting intergovernmental policy-making, negotiations, partnerships and innovation areas in the United Nations;

Worked on the agendas of many UN decision making bodies, including ECOSOC and its subsidiary bodies (Commissions on the Status of Women, Social Development, on Population and Development, Science and Technology, Narcotic Drugs and the Forum on Forests) by organizing side events with civil society organizations and the private sectors and producing policy oriented recommendations for intergovernmental decision;

Providing policy suggestions on education, innovation, healthcare with civil society and professions organizations;

Attended various international forums, UN interagency task forces, social society meetings and executive committees and delivered speeches on behalf of UN;

Served as Principal Social Affairs Officer in the Office of the Special Adviser on Gender Equality and Advancement of Women (OSAGE) on social innovations for the empowerment of women, including in science and technology, prior to joining DESA;

Served in peacekeeping in various capacities, carrying out political analysis and participating in peacekeeping, peacemaking and peace building activities, prior to his joining the Office of the Special Adviser.
