Jose Claveria de Venecia (Philippines)

Jose Claveria de Venecia was born on December 26, 1936. He is a former Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Philippines, serving from July 1992 to June 1998. During this time, he was once the organizing chairman of ASEAN Council. He was again elected as the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Philippines in July 2001. In September 2000, he led the Philippines' dominant party (LAKAS-CMD) to establish the Asian International Conference of Asian Political Parties which aimed at promoting the cooperation and communication among Asian political parties, increasing the mutual understanding and trust of Asian countries and pushing forward regional cooperation in Asia. He  now serves as one of the co-chairs of the Asian International Conference of Asian Political Parties and as one of the executive chairs of CAPDI. In December 2010, he was elected as one of the Co-chairmen of IESCO.
