Brief Introduction
Nowadays, the frequent occurrence of natural disasters like earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanic eruptions as well as man-made disasters like deforestation, offshore pollution, sharp decreases of wetlands losses, the pollution of water resources, desertification, species extinction, land subsidence in cities, extreme weathers, large floods, serious mudslides, serious droughts, epidemic diseases and grain and food safety triggered by climate change and unsustainable economic activities poses grave threats to human survival and economic development. The occurrence of various disasters has altered the political landscape of the world and exacerbated poverty, which in turn breeds conflicts. Against this backdrop, IESCO was founded by the political parties, parliaments and government bodies of sovereign states with the participation and support of related UN agencies and in compliance with UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). In December 2010, IESCO was granted observer’s status at the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP). In July 2011, it was granted special consultative status at UN Economic and Social Council (UN-ECOSOC), observer's status at the plenary meeting of UN-ECOSOC. In October, 2012, IESCO became an advisory institution of ICAPP and the Permanent Conference of Political Parties of Latin America and the Caribbean (COPPPAL).
The World Ecological Safety Assembly (Presidium) is the highest authority of IESCO and responsible for examining the principal affairs of the organization. The Executive Committee is the executive body of the Assembly which hosts the World Ecological Safety Assembly and the World Ecological Safety Expo every two years and the Euro-Asia Ecological Safety Conference annually.

Objective
IESCO aims to tackle climatechange, handle ecological crisis, achieve urban disaster reduction and ecological restoration and gradually achieve the sustainable development of economy, society, and ecology through cooperation with political parties, parliaments (congresses), governments,scientific research institutions as well as national think tanks around the world. 
The World Ecological Safety Assembly is chaired by one of the major leaders of the country sponsoring the assembly. The executive chairpersons manage the routine works of the Assembly (the Presidium). They will be elected every two years and serve no more than two consecutive terms.
Tasks
To support poverty alleviation programs in less developed countries and developing countries; to investigate and analyze the global ecological safety situation; to facilitate the fundamental research and development in the field of global ecological safety; to engage in the promotion and utilization of applicable technological achievements in the national economy; to publish books and periodicals on ecological safety; to ascertain the development priority of ecology, population and economy and determine the tasks of ecological safety activities; to assess program outlines and major projects concerning ecological safety; to establish and implement ecological safety based assessment, supervision, certification, evaluation and education; to provide training programs for engineers, technical personnel and professionals engaged in ecological safety research; to organize international conferences and world expos concerning ecological safety; to protect the legal status and interests as well as the intellectual property rights of organization members; to introduce the public the concept of ecology and health, and enhance their awareness about production safety, transportation safety and daily safety; To conduct ecological skills and youth training on technology (employment) with UN-Habitat; to carry out the ranking list of world ecologically safe cities also; to establish the Award for Outstanding Contribution to World Ecological Safety and UN Youth Innovation Award; and to undertake other business operations as admissible within the law and in line with the objectives of this organization.
