Global Parties Climate and Ecological Alliance
Introduction In the News

Global Parties Climate and Ecological Alliance (GPCEA) is an international organization (non-profitable), co-founded by the 19th Plenary Session of International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP), 31st Permanent Conference of Political Parties of Latin America and the Caribbean (COPPPAL), 2nd Plenary Session of Centrist Asia-Pacific Democrats International (CAPDI), the Council for the African Political Parties (CAPP) and International Ecological Safety Collaborative Organization (IESCO). The aim of the organization is to enhance the leadership and coordinative role of Parties, parliaments and governments and to galvanize all social sectors to address climate change and calamitous natural disasters, protect the environment and natural resources, promote green development and green governance, strengthen the building of eco-civilization and eco-safety pattern and realize Post-2015 UN Sustainable Development Agenda. On May 31st, 2013, 2013 Special Conference (Xi'an) of International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP), with the theme “Green Development, Beautiful Asia”, adopted Xi’an Declaration, which observed the founding of GPCEA by International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP), Centrist Asia-Pacific Democrats International (CAPDI), Permanent Conference of Political Parties of Latin America and the Caribbean (COPPPAL) and International Ecological Safety Collaborative Organization (IESCO). The Alliance, with its solid foundation, has the aim of forming a frontline between Parties and civil societies against climate change. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon considered the founding of the Alliance is a breakthrough and it will be an important pillar to support Asia and the world in addressing climate change and safeguarding the safety of human survival and national development.
